COVID-19: Will we continue working from home?
The blurred line between work and home life might not be temporary. When the restrictions begin to lift, children might be back at school, but many white-collar workers could be encouraged to continue working from home (at least some of the time), because conferences, meetings and even handshakes might not be worth the risk of infection. So if you are continuing to work from home, here are a few tips to keep you focussed.
Stay connected
Keep in touch with your work colleagues via video calls and instant chat tools like Google Hangouts, because small interactions throughout the day can make a huge difference to your sense of connection with the outside world.
Create a fun workspace
Fill your workspace with photos of family and friends, plants or new stationery, anything that will liven up your desk. A positive and personal environment will help make the space your own and lower your anxiety levels.
Keep physically active
Get up from your desk regularly, even if it’s to go and stand on your balcony or to make a cup of tea. Moving around will help keep you energised. Why not stay connected by giving a friend or colleague a call while you go for a short walk?
Listen to music
Studies suggest that music has a positive impact on efficiency, creativity and happiness. So put on your favourite playlist to keep yourself in a positive state-of-mind.
